Great talent, bad finisher
By Scott Keith on 29 May 2024
With Mercedes Mone of course backing it up in the ring this sunday as most of us knew she could, there is one issue that a lot of fans knew about since her NJPW debut (At least i think that's when she started using it?) her ridiculous finisher, Mone Maker One of the least convincing finishers on the roster. Not sure why she can't bust out the Bank Statement, but it is what it is.
Having said that, are their other instances that immediately come to mind of a great talent continuing using a finisher that just doesn't do it for anyone? I don't mean HBK using teardrop when he broke out in singles, as he was still working his moveset and character. Hell even Okada stopped trying to get his Million Dollar dream over and it turned into a wear down tactic.

Lance Storm and the half crab! That man desperately needed an impactful finisher when he was on the way up in 2000. I also hated that Scott Steiner gave up his amazing array of finishers and settled in a camel clutch.
