Jim Ross in ‘93

Watched King of the Ring ‘93 recently and also some Coliseum Videos with the announce team of Jim Ross/Randy Savage/Bobby Heenan. I really loved that trio, especially on the Coliseum stuff because they are just laid back and bantering. Loved them at Mania IX also.

KOTR ‘93 got me thinking about Jim Ross’s “shoot” promo from ‘96 about how Vince removed him as the lead PBP man out of jealousy and thinking Ross upstaged him.

Wondering how much truth there was to that end and if there was any info about it at the time in the dirt sheets etc. Did Vince just really not care for his commentary and pulled the plug? I thought the chemistry with Savage and Heenan was good.

Obviously he was cut loose entirely in ‘94 then eventually brought back but was never the “A” guy until ‘98.
