Mercedes as a babyface

SK,

First off, I’m a big fan of Mercedes/Sasha back to the NXT days.
But this current iteration we’re seeing in AEW- how/why is this character supposed to be someone fans want to cheer for?
Is it just because she’s a big deal and we all recognize her and they assume we want to root for her?

Thanks for all of the blog goodness.
She sure isn’t feeling like much of a big deal at the moment.
