As the first quarter of 2024 is wrapping up, we are excited to release our latest data report on market shares in Canada. As usual, we based our report on the JustWatch users in Canada selecting their streaming services, clicking out to streaming offers and marking titles as seen.
SVOD market shares in Q1 2024
Streaming leader Netflix secures the top spot in the streaming market in Canada, closely followed by Amazon Prime Video. Interestingly, despite Crave being well known in Canada, Disney+ has overtaken it with a 6% difference in market shares.

Streaming giant Amazon Prime Video and local player Crave gained a 1% increase this quarter. Disney Plus, and Paramount+ remain steady, while Netflix and Apple TV+ suffer a -1% dip in shares.

Thanks for the info! It's very weird up here because all the stuff that would air on Peacock and Max in the US are instead kind of distributed between Prime and Crave and Paramount in seemingly random ways so I never have any idea where to actually watch stuff. I literally use JustWatch.com all the time when my wife or daughter texts me to ask where she can watch whatever random movie she wants to see and can't figure out the streaming maze to see.
