The Ronda Rousey era
By Scott Keith on 2 April 2024
Scott,
With Ronda Rousey in the news a little bit lately thanks to her book, I'm curious where you fall on her run in WWE? And just want to get one thing out of the way, I don't care for Ronda the person at all. Anyone who is a Sandy Hook truther can rot in hell for all I care…but just talking strictly on a professional wrestling basis. IMO she failed to live up to some lofty expectations (getting the “Rowdy” Piper seal of approval, the Joan Jett theme song and just a megapush)…but I thought Becky Lynch had some poignant words on Ronda when she basically said the company pushed Ronda too soon and she wasn't ready. Now I don't think Ronda really responded the right way nor did she care to respond the right way…but there's an argument to be made that the company itself probably screwed the pooch on this one. (And maybe learned their lesson w/ Logan Paul?).
What say you? And do you think we've seen the last of her in professional wrestling?
Never say never but holy cow was that last run some minimal ROI given what they had to have been paying to get her back. She’s not Brock Lesnar and doesn’t immediately justify her contract just by showing up. I think she’s done.
