Is Wardlow essentially done? Back to being a flunky, loses “challenger of the month” throwaway match (that didn’t even main event) and now back down the card? Following months of disappearing, trying to recapture his former shine and basically admitting on air that they stalled him out.

Rewind 18 months, he finally turns on MJF, where should he have gone from there?

I think having him go 50/50 with Hobbs and Joe over the TNT title was what really killed him. They had something going with the Powerbomb Symphony stuff but kept stalling his momentum with a loss just as he got going. He could have coasted for quite a while with the Goldberg act, but he was never going to be World champion. At the same time, squashing MJF made him a natural challenger when Max won the title, and they never even mentioned it. I think his best play is to leave when his contract is done and explore NXT or maybe go to Japan for a while and play scary gaijin over there. AEW just isn't the right environment for guys like him.
