Hey Scott,
Do you think that wrestling fans get a bit too interested/obsessed with having their promotion of choice acquire free agents at the cost of developing their own talent? And this isn't a shot at any promotion, AEW chasing Ospreay, Mercedes, Okada, and whomever else they get makes sense. WWE going after Tama, Fatu, and Giulia makes sense. But do you think that maybe the pursuit over new talent marginalizes the talent they already have?
Hell, I'm already seeing talk about how Swerve needs to win the belt so he can drop it to Ospreay at All In. Like we're already thinking of a transition reign for the hottest babyface in the company. Maybe I'm crazy here but that's wild, right?
If I have a point, maybe we wrestling fans need to calm down and appreciate the talent our favorite promotions already have over thinking they need some new star from another place that is gonna fix all the problems.
Thanks,
Counter: Wrestlers staying with the same promotion long term is boring a lot of times. Look at how much fresher Cody became every time he rambles on to greener pastures. Wrestling is best when it’s about the hot new thing and short term dopamine rush, not 4 year title reigns and people staying in the midcard with 10 year contracts.
