The Glass Debate

Quick Background: I was a HUGE ECW mark when i found out about it around the age of 12, so 1996. Couldn't get enough of it, And when OhMyGod.simplenet hit the net, I was all over FMW & IWA Japan clips. Then ECW folded and I left behind. Never got in XPW, CZW Etc. etc. Had a blast with the 2 One Night Stands, the DVD, and yes, some ECW footage on peacock does not age as well as others. But i still enjoy what i enjoyed.
Saw Nick Gage on AEW. Didn't know who he was and didn't care too afterwards, none of that was my cup of tea now.
I loved the spectacle of what i saw sunday night still. Through and through.
I'm not here to be on a side of the Punk/Jack Perry fight. I would ask this regardless. WHY do they have to use real glass? We know its wrestling and entertainment. Wouldn't they just use stunt glass or sugar glass panes? It would still look awesome! All it takes is for one simple piece to hit the wrong part of an arm or neck and it can get REAL dangerous real quick.
Darby is a big boy. If he wants to jump through a pane of glass from the top of the ladder I presume he knows how to fall. Back in my day guys used to fall off scaffolds and blow out their knees and they’d be back doing double shots in Knoxville on one leg.
