It’s Sting!!

While we can all agree or disagree about the quality of the match last night, I thought it was horrible and just happy Sting didn't die, which I said alot during his AEW run. I think AEW was the perfect spot for it to happen. Everything leading up to the actual match was perferct. Sting was an outsider of WWE, so it makes the most sense his farewell didn't happen in WWE. But do you think Sting made a mistake not going to WWE when WCW shut down. I know the rumors were because of his new found religion he didn't think it was a good fit for him. And while there were some fun memories from TNA, I feel like he could had some good matches and fun if he joined WWE alot earlier. Obviously when he finally made it he was pretty much shot as a performer, and while I enjoyed the Rollins feud, it was clear he waited too long to make the jump.
I don't blame the WWE for not letting him get back in the ring. And again, I am just glad he didn't get serious injured in any of the crazy stunts he did while performer in AEW. But it was nice to see him get a final run to go out on his own terms, and an appreciation from a younger generation who didn't realize how awesome he was in his prime. But I am most glad we didn't get a match between him and Taker after the Rollins match because it would have been a major bummer for both guys to go out like that. Taker was right, it wouldn't have delivered to the fans expectations, and I'd rather have the what if as opposed to anything that resembled last night's match. I def wouldn't have wanted it to be a cinematic match, which prob the only way they could have done it. But it's a shame we didn't get it when both guys could still go in the ring.
I can tell you I am already sick of this being called the greatest retirement match ever, as TK already tweeted. It was fine, but not better than HBK vs Flair, who had an amazing final run until his ego ruined it with him wrestling again afterwards. And I also think the boneyard match was significantly better as well. I wish fans would let stuff breath before instantly declaring stuff the greatest ever.
I’m sorry this happened to you.
