My Embarssing Plea for Help
By Scott Keith on 27 February 2024
Hi Scott,
I don't think I've ever told you this, but you were one of my inspirations to become a writer along with Roger Ebert and Stephen King.
My writing career has had some success but has hit a major snag. I actually came to you for help during Christmas and some very kind Doomers donated some money my way. My career is on the comeback trail, but some crippling depression that was triggered by a very rough 2023 for my career and marriage has meant my output has been decreased by lack of energy and it has increased some costs in my life.
I have been suffocated with some debt but the most stressful is being informed by my bank I must pay $1500 by March 1st, which just happens to be my daughter's 9th birthday. Dad being chased by creditors probably is not what she wanted as a gift.
The increased work does mean I have some payments coming my way soon. Unfortunately, it won't be on time and it likely won't be enough. I am confident my career will drastically improve in March and I'll finally get a handle on things. I feel desperate and ashamed at the moment with the situation I am in when I should be ready to celebrate his amazing daughter. If anyone is bogged down by way too much money then I'd be very grateful for a donation at my PayPal.
I completely understand if you ignore this or if your readers declare 'been there, done that.' If finances aren't something anyone can help with, I'd love support through reading my site Beyond the Balcony or checking out my podcast, The Movie Breakdown. Both have not been super active recently, but I hope to get both back on track as fun places to analyze pop culture.
Thank you so much, and your site has been a bright light during a tough period.
Hope this helps!
