Good afternoon,
Had a hypothetical for you. Let's say Bill Watts gets the GCW timeslot (post the Black Saturday WWF run) on TBS for Mid-South instead of Jim Crockett, what happens? Would basic cable still get their required RDA of 80's southern rasslin with much the same cast of characters or does Bill Watts just piss off Hank Aaron a few years earlier?
The end of Mid-South/UWF was coming regardless of whether he got the TV slot or not, because it was entirely due to the Oklahoma oil market falling apart. He would have gone out of business just the same and Crockett would have picked up the pieces and we'd be right back where we started again.
