The 25 Days of Von Erichs – Day Eleven
By Rock Star Gary on 7 December 2023

For 15 days until Iron Claw is released, I present to you genuine moments in World Class Championship Wrestling history in chronological order.
Today, we look at July 23, 1983 from the Sportatorium:
Vicky Carranza captured the UWA Women’s title by defeating Lola Gonzales.
Next, what you’ve all been waiting for…
VALET FOR A DAY: Due to David Von Erich’s victory over “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin for the NWA Texas title on 7/4 in Fort Worth, Garvin and Sunshine must act as David’s valets for a day. On David’s ranch, As Garvin and Sunshine arrive in a maroon Lincoln Continental, Garvin gives David a whole lotta lip about his upcoming responsibilities.
David instructs Garvin to open the back door to the Continental and meet him at the “back 40” meaning Garvin must walk behind the car. Lest we forget, it’s a HOT and HUMID July Day in Texas. Next, Garvin complains while making fence post holes while Sunshine must assist David’s skeet shooting. Garvin then hits the deck in dramatic fashion while ducking a rifle shot.
Following that task, Sunshine and Garvin give David’s dog a bath while Garvin continues to complain. Hilarity ensues when they trade places holding the dog still. Afterward, David instructs them to haul bales of hay to the barn by foot. As Garvin wears his customary white gloves and can carry a bale over his shoulder, Sunshine struggles to drag one behind her.
When everyone finally arrives at the barn, Garvin complains that he’ll clean it up but not in front of the camera. While Garvin raises a shovel, he and David brawl as the segment ends.
HOT TAKE: Excellent segment that purely defined heel comeuppance. Garvin played his part perfectly with his whining, and Sunshine looked absolutely miserable. As you’d expect, David felt right at home being a rancher giving orders to his ranch hands.
In other matches, Michael ‘P.S.” Hayes beat Johnny Mantell, “Gentleman” Chris Adams defeats Terry Gordy, and Bruiser Brody prevailed over Buddy “Jack” Roberts by DQ.
Stay tuned for more WCCW goodness tomorrow!
