Good evening, wrestling fans, I’m Gorilla Monsoon, and welcome once again to another unbelievable Night Thread. They are jam-packed to the rafters here at a sold-out Blog of Doom!
On this day back in 1987 history was indeed made at WrestleMania III as the greatest professional athlete in the world today, The Hulkster, overcame the incredible challenge of the until-then undefeated Andre the Giant, slamming the 500lbs+ behemoth in one of the most tremendous feats of strength ever seen in the squared circle. They were literally going bananas in the Pontiac Silverdome as Hulkamania was running wild! Also in action, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat defeated “The Macho Man” Randy Savage in a real knock-down-drag-out affair for the Intercontinental Title, “Rowdy” Roddy Piper overcame the challenge of “The Adorable One” Adrian Adonis and Jake “The Snake” Roberts, accompanied by rock music icon Alice Cooper, squared off against The Honky Tonk Man. What a fantastic night of action WrestleMania III was, in front of well over 93,000 fans in Detroit, Michigan!
Talk about that and a whole lot more as we are with you, as ever, deep into the night.
