Yeah, most of you are watching March Madness, but let’s go through the motions:
Tonight on IMPACT: Josh Alexander faces Honor No More’s Matt Taven; Jay White and Chris Bey of Bullet Club take on the Motor City Machine Guns; Gisele Shaw and Lady Frost both challenge for Deonna Purrazzo’s AAA Reina de Reinas title; Rhino looks to get even with the bitter Steve Maclin; Bhupinder Gujjar takes on Larry D; and Karl Anderson faces Cody Deaner on the pre-show.
There is no NBA doubleheader because of March Madness. The night games are: Kentucky/St. Peter’s and Murray State/San Fran on CBS; New Mexico St./UCONN and Vermont/Arkansas on TNT; Indiana/St. Mary’s and Akron/UCLA on TBS; and Creighton/SDSU and Texas Southern/Kansas on TRU. New Mexico State and Indiana are your 12 seeds.
As for the indies:
- CHICAGO, IL — It’s a big week in the Windy City, and it starts with Freelance Wrestling giving us A Shift In Power (Friday, 8PMCT, IWTV)! It’s being called this because Robert “Ego” Anthony has to defend both the primary and secondary title in one night! He puts the secondary title on the line against Bryan Keith, but the big gold is in more danger as he has to face Alan “V” Angels! Plus, EFFY, GPA, Kylie Rae, and more!
- CHICAGO, IL — The next night, AAW says it’s all you want, and you CAN have it as they give us EPIC in honor of their 18th Anniversary (Saturday, 7:30PMCT, FITE)! Mat Fitchett defends the big gold against Schaff! Skye Blue puts the women’s title on the line against Christi Jaynes! Ace Steel comes out of retirement to face Davey Vega! Fred Yehi, Steve Manders, and Silas Young are on the poster, so they should be doing something!
- SAINT LOUIS, MISSOURI — Glory Pro is back in action as they give us Good Times, Bad Times (Sunday, 3PMCT, taped to air on IWTV)! It’s a huge six-man main event as Arik Cannon, Davey Vega, and Mat Fitchett face Colt Cabana, Dan Adams, and Jake “WARHORSE” Parnell! Allie Katch and Laynie Luck go at it in a battle of two people I’ve met and seen in person! Jake Something takes on Ethan Price! And while some would agree that Myron Reed and Davey Richards deserves to be the exclamation point, I’d say that calling Reed/Richards a main event might be a bit of a stretch. (Joke blatantly stolen from my friend Claire.)
- RIDGEFIELD PARK, NJ — Jersey Championship Wrestling, GCW’s feeder promotion, is back with their own March Madnezz (Sunday, 3PMET, YouTube)! Edith Surreal faces Shazza McKenzie! Alec Price goes small style against the Cambodian-American shooter Yoya! Deonna Purrazzo steps up against Billie Starkz! Jersey legend Grim Reefer is in action!
- WORCESTER, MA — WWR+ is still running the White Eagle even if Uncharted Territory isn’t, and it’s going to be showing the Littlest and Meanest of Times (Sunday, 3PMET, IWTV)! With a name like that, we know Little Mean Kathleen will be in action, but don’t know her opponent. The matches we DO know, though, are great: Willow Nightingale vs. Jody Threat! Kennedi Copeland vs. Delmi Exo! Ashley D’Amboise vs. Tasha Steelz! Davienne vs. Christina Marie!
Your indie flashback match of the week takes us to Beyond in the Electric Haze (home of Americanrana); two future AEW stars face off as Maxwell Jacob Friedman looks to put away the up-and-comer Wheeler Yuta!
BRING THE INSANITY!
