Impact, Indies, and Insanity: Thursday Night, June 24, 2021

Tonight on Impact: the tag titles are on the line as Violent By Design faces Eddie Edwards and Satoshi Kojima; Deonna Purrazzo has a non-title match with Susan; Keira Hogan battles Rosemary; Rohit Raju and Shera team up against Trey Miguel and Petey Williams; and on the BTI show, it’s Team Philippines (TJP/Fallah Bahh) against Decay (Black Taurus/Crazzy Steve).

Canada is one win away from an existential crisis as Montreal (3) looks to close out Vegas (2) and get into the Finals.  Meanwhile, Phoenix (2) finds out if the Clippers (0) have anything left in the tank after DeAndre Ayton broke their hearts.

• We start the indies with the debut show of Combat Fight Unlimited (tonight at 8PMET, IWTV).  This show — which ran in like March in the DC area — features a UFC-inspired women’s shoot-style tournament with Kennedi Copeland, Lady Frost, Janai Kai, Jordan Blade, Zoey Skye, Ray Lyn, The Notorious Mimi, and Masha Slamovich doing battle.  Your non-tournament match is a doozy, though — Allysin Kay vs. Edith Surreal!
• ICW No Holds Barred is doing four — yes, FOUR — shows in Atlantic City this weekend!  Pit Fighter 17 (Friday, 8PMET) and 18 (Sunday, 8PMET) bookend a wild weekend, as a Saturday doubleheader (4PMET and 8PMET) round out the fun.  Talent on display this weekend includes John Wayne Murdoch, Tony Deppen, AKIRA, Homicide, Tank, Big Beef Garvin, Reed Bentley, Dan Maff, Jeff Cannonball, and many more!  The whole weekend will be shown on IWTV.
• But ICWNHB isn’t alone!  Stand Alone Wrestling will be joining the fun (Saturday, 10PMET, IWTV) featuring among other things Shawn Donovan defending the big gold against KC Navarro, The REP facing the Bale Brothers (Kurt and Lance, no Christian in sight), Anthony Bennett putting the Cruiserweight title on the line in a six-pack challenge, and for you blood’n’guts fans, an Incredible Edible Deathmatch!
• And then, Sunday afternoon (12PMET, IWTV), the oddly-named Pro Wrestling After Dark will be putting on a show (at noon?) called the Cannabis Cup!  Eight women’s wrestlers will go at it for the cup, including Impact’s Kimber Lee and AEW Dark’s Ashley D’Amboise!  Plus, in non-tournament action, it’s Brittany Blake taking on Zeda Zhang!
• But our feature show comes from Tremont’s H2O as they’re holding their anniversary show (Saturday, 6PMET, IWTV)!  The big gold is on the line as Chuck Payne defends against Rickey Shane Page!  Mouse defends the Hybrid title against Gregory Iron!  Jeff Cannonball defends the Danny Havoc Memorial Hardcore Championship against Atticus Cogar!  Plus, Kennedi Copeland’s open challenge, a Staple Gun match, and much more!
