Stone Cold Pass
By Scott Keith on 20th April 2021
The wrestling community is understandably judgmental of wrestlers that have made poor and damaging decisions (Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, and even more recently Chris Jericho immediately come to mind), but does it feel strange that both fans and those within the industry seem to give Steve Austin a pass? I was a bit taken aback this past weekend when fans, companies and wrestlers were all talking up Austin and all he's done for the industry, without a single mention of his troubling history with domestic abuse. Does it seem strange that Austin has avoided any semblance of critical judgment, especially when you consider his hands aren't completely clean when it comes to using his backstage influence?
Given what we know about wrestling, it’s not strange at all.
