Heroes in modern wrestling

After watching The Young Bucks spend the last couple of weeks super kicking announcers and referees it got me thinking why are the babyfaces ignoring it? In times past if someone had roughed up Mean Gene, the Hulkster would have knocked his head off. In Memphis Lawler would have piledriven anyone who messed with Lance Russell. Poor Tony Schiavone must be nursing his wounds longing for the days that Dusty and Magnum would have chased anyone who messed with him or David Crockett out of the building. Are there no heroes in modern wrestling?
