End of an Era?

In light of the Adam Cole/Pat McAfee work, if WWE wanted to play it as a shoot and “fire” Cole for unprofessional conduct, would it make sense to disband the Undisputed Era as well? Or would pulling a DX 2.0 and have someone take over leadership of the group make more sense? Ciampa immediately comes to mind as someone that’s not doing anything and could step right in seamlessly.
It would look kind of silly to “fire” him and then have him show up on the main roster. I think the Era has mostly run its course and O'Reilly can't be on TV right now anyway, so they might as well just move on to something else.
