This was a blind item on crazy days and nights, an entertainment rumor blog:

“This massive entertainment company is in dire financial straits and can't afford the payout to a city if they pull out of an upcoming huge event. So, they want the city to make the first move to cancel and then city would have to pay them.”

This is most probably WWE, but dire financial straits?

They just sent out a press release bragging about their "half a billion" dollars in cash, so their straits don't seem particularly dire at the moment. Can't they just go 50/50 and call it a day?
