The SmackDown Si… erm, Five

The WWE Ruthless Aggression series is doing quite the job of dancing around the subject of not mentioning Chris Benoit and I think he’s been seen on screen for a total of about five seconds in the series so far. This is a touchy subject and my question may cause offence but if Benoit had “only” committed suicide and not killed his wife and son first, would he still be persona non grata to WWE? Even temporarily forgetting about the murders, the issues of roid rage and brain injuries would still be there and they don’t like to address them either.
They don't like to address them, but he wouldn't be a complete monster like he ended up, so he would retain his status in WWE I'm pretty sure. And would have gotten a posthumous Hall of Fame induction because they can say "Well, he was a screwed up guy and killed himself for reasons we'll never know but he was a hell of a talent" and leave it at that.
