Punishment

Hi Scott,
To piggyback a bit off a question you answered here, have there been any recent examples of a wrestler being “punished” (no doubt for breaking an unwritten rule about sneezing or ice packs) and then getting a better push for essentially “taking their lumps”?
We are always told the valiant tale of HHH taking his punishment (post curtain call) and earning the respect of the locker room, but it seems whenever we hear about someone in the doghouse lately it’s almost non recoverable for the wrestler.

I believe that the best example would be ol' Lars Sullivan, although he doesn't appear to be coming back again after his post-racist fine and punishment. But he was certainly in line for another big push and could be brought back at any moment because he's still big and scary looking. I mean, what more could anyone possibly dig up from his past?
