“Blood Runs Cold” WCW

I remember hearing back in the day that the whole "Blood Runs Cold" promos on WCW in 1996 was supposed to lead to a debut of a faction of wrestlers doing the whole "Mortal Kombat" gimmick instead of just Glacier. Any truth to that?
That was the rough plan from Bischoff, yes. Although it took so long from tease to debut that the plan changed a million times before it happened.
