Return of 2 person announce team

I was surprised to see the 2 person announce team brought back on Smackdown last night. Do you think Vince finally came to the realization that the 3 person team sucks, or was it more of a case of him not wanting Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, or Rene Young on the new era of the show?
It might have been a Fox call. They had a lot of say in the production of the show. And I will say, eliminating the petty squabbling on commentary was an immediate improvement in the product.
