Dean Ambrose leaving WWE?

I knew something was up on Raw when they had Nia Jax attack Ambrose but supposedly rumor is Ambrose gave his notice this past weekend that he's not resigning with WWE when his contract is up in April due to frustrations with how his characters been handled recently. Is it safe to say he was a bust?
The heel turn? God yes. They spent months building to the Shield reunion (minus Roman's departure) and it should have been an epic feud with Rollins when he turned, like surefire Wrestlemania title match level. And then it just turned into a balloon deflating slowly as it went along. And the TLC match really killed it for good. I don't blame him for leaving, since this was realistically his best shot at getting to that next level and they came up with "This city stinks" as his big heel run.
