What Was Up With Starrcade?

So I was feeling nostalgic and wanted to watch an old Starrcade to see what Flair and company were up to while I was watching survivor series as a kid. So I started going through your rants to see what was the best card to watch and what was up with Starrcade? Iron man tournament? Pat O’Connor tag team tournament? Lethal lottery and battle bowl? I thought Starrcade was the answer to wrestlemania? Why didn’t they use the event as oh I don’t know the culmination of a years worth of booking? Anyway I eventually just ended up watching the 1990 version and moving on with life but seriously who thought all of that was a good idea? I realize I’m going into a lot of detail only to set you up for a two word because wcw answer but that bothered me.

You should watch Starrcade 85 and 86 instead. They’re pretty awesome. 88 has an awesome main event and Rick Steiner winning the TV title, too.
