–Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan are in the booth and they are taped from Orlando, Florida.
–Opening Contest: Randy Savage (2-0) pins Frankie Lancaster after the flying elbow smash in 58 seconds:
Savage is never challenged by Lancaster, pinning the jobber in less than a minute and then celebrating in the crowd after the bell.
–Gene Okerlund hypes Uncensored and interviews Avalanche, who warns Savage that he is going to crush his sternum in Tupelo.
–A replay of Lord Steven Regal’s acceptance of Bobby Eaton’s challenge for a match on WCW Saturday Night is shown.
–Lord Steven Regal (4-1) beats Joey Maggs via submission to the Regal Stretch at 1:42:
Maggs does a massive sell for a blind charge, going all the way to the other side of the ring and falling to the floor. Regal brings Maggs back in and wastes little time putting him in the Regal Stretch to go into WCW Saturday Night with a winning streak.
–Okerlund provides the Uncensored Report. Hulk Hogan’s promo that originally aired on WCW Pro is shown again.
–Non-Title Match: Harlem Heat (WCW Tag Team Champions w/Sister Sherri) (14-0-1) defeat The Alyla Brothers when Booker T pins one of the brothers after the Harlem Hangover at 2:08:
The Alyla Brothers are bigger guys with matching tights, something that does not intimidate Harlem Heat in the slightest as Booker T takes off one of their heads with an axe kick and follows with the Harlem Hangover. This squash must have been near the end of the taping as the crowd did not give Booker any love for the finish.
–A video package hypes the Steiner Brothers.
–Television Champion Arn Anderson delivers a taped promo swearing that Johnny B. Badd cannot knock him out.
–The Blacktop Bully (w/Colonel Robert Parker) (12-0) beats Barry Hardy via submission to the Breaker 1-9 at 2:07:
Hardy fires up the crowd with his attempted comeback, but he puts his head down too early on a whip and the Bully resorts back to his Demolition days in doing a small beatdown before applying a sloppy Breaker 1-9.
–Okerlund interviews Dustin Rhodes, who says that the Stud Stable has failed to put him down for the count and the Bully’s quest will also fail.
–United States Champion Vader and Ric Flair cut a promo that repeats all of the major talking points up to this point for Uncensored.
–Steve Austin (2-0) defeats Marcus Bagwell (0-1) with a Flair pin at 5:07:
The action is quick and intense between these two, with Austin busting out a Thesz press and Bagwell countering that with a roll up, something that is jarring to see even though Austin is not yet in his “Stone Cold” phase. The Disney crowd does not want to stay engaged in this bout, but Austin does what he can to keep them interested by disrespecting Bagwell with cheap shots. That leads into the finish as Austin rolls through a sunset flip and uses the ropes for leverage to prevail. This needed to be in front of a more traditional wrestling crowd and given about five more minutes. Rating: *½
–Schiavone interviews Randy Savage, who promises that there will not be an earthquake or an avalanche at Uncensored.
–Tune in next week to see Pretty Wonderful square off against the Fantastics! Also, Johnny B. Badd, Alex Wright, and Bunkhouse Buck will be in action!
The Last Word: This was your typical television broadcast where things were just “there.” Steve Austin’s victory in the main event shows that he is getting a small push since returning from injury, but his true test will come when he is programmed into an actual feud.
