Live Shows vs Taped Shows?

By Scott Keith on 27 February 2018

I've always heard over the years that it is more expensive for a live show in pro wrestling than a taped one. Do you know if this is true? If it is, do you have any idea (roughly) it costs to put on a taped show vs a live one? Thanks.
I believe the costs are most associated with actually airing the show live, like satellite costs and such. WWE typically does the non-live shows “live to tape”, where they treat it like a live airing, so there's not much savings there. I know TNA incurred a LOT of extra costs from doing their live Impact disaster in 2010, so apparently satellite time is REALLY pricey.
