Hey Scott whats up,

So idk how informative you are with the history of the IWGP Heavyweight Title but when AJ Styles debuted in WWE, I seem to remember the announcers talk as if the only 2 non japanese men to win it recently were Brock Lesnar and Styles but if I remember correctly, didn't Kurt Angle win it from Brock then lose it to Nakamura? If so then why don't they acknowledge Kurt as a former champ?

Kurt was never champion and never even competed in New Japan as far as I'm aware. Brock won the belt and then quit the company and refused to drop it, so they stripped him of it.
