Benoit as WWE champ in 2005/2006

Any reason Benoit never got another world title run? Especially in late '05 into '06 after he went to Smackdown and Batista was injured. He was a more believable main eventer/world champion than Mysterio was and was still having great matches. Think of the awesome Benoit/Angle WM22 world title match we could have gotten. Or throw JBL in there too to make it a 3 way wrestling God match.

They basically wanted to phase him down into a trainer role and Vince just didn't see him at that level after losing the title to Orton. He was supposed to get the ECW World title and hold that for a while but, you know…
