–Vince McMahon puts over the In Your House pay-per-view as the lead-in for today’s show.
–McMahon and Dok Hendrix are in the booth and they are concluding the tapings in Des Moines, Iowa. Hendrix repeats his claim from last week’s show that Henry Godwinn is likely working with the Million Dollar Corporation to weaken WWF Champion Diesel before tomorrow’s big show. Hendrix is also careful to call Sid “Super Sid” instead of “Psycho Sid.”
–Opening Contest: Razor Ramon (10-2-1) pins Todd Becker after the Razor’s Edge at 2:47:
Becker looks the part of an unimpressive jobber, wearing cut off tights that could easily get him confused with PG-13 in Memphis. Ramon makes short work of Becker here as McMahon takes the time to put over the handicap match Ramon is having with Jeff Jarrett and the Roadie at In Your House.
–McMahon and Hendrix revisit Bam Bam Bigelow being fired/quitting the Million Dollar Corporation three weeks ago on RAW. Bigelow then cuts a studio promo about how he never seemed good enough for the Million Dollar Corporation and he was about to quit anyway before the Corporation turned on him, which seems like revisionist history that someone uses to explain away something bad that happened to them.
–Rad Radford (1-0) defeats Jerry Lynn after a Northern Lights suplex at 2:48:
This clash of future ECW talent sees Radford forget to remove his shorts before wrestling, causing him to disrobe mid-match and leaving McMahon perplexed as to how to explain that to the audience. Like his recent Action Zone squash, Radford suplexes Lynn several times to crickets and cruises to an easy win.
–Stephanie Wiand continues hyping the New York house show circuit. She fears that Diesel could lose his title in the Nassau Coliseum because he cannot possibly prepare for the winner of the twenty man battle royal, who he will face later that night. Meanwhile, Sid reminds Diesel that he is prepared for combat the next night in Madison Square Garden.
–McMahon says that Shawn Michaels will be returning to action in several weeks. Hendrix recaps how Ted DiBiase caused Michaels injury by getting Sid to attack him.
–Doink (w/Dink) (7-2) pins The Brooklyn Brawler after the Whoopie Cushion at 2:20:
Louise Berdine, a middle-aged woman with big glasses, is our guest fan ring announcer and she gets some flowers from Dink and a hug from Doink. Dink’s fixation on biting people’s rear ends continues here as Doink busts out a new move with a tilt-a-whirl slam, paving the way for him to recover after a loss to Jeff Jarrett on RAW.
–Skip and Sunny tell us that we are ugly and will never look as good as them in their new vignette.

–Men on a Mission (10-1) beat Buck Zumhofe & Tommy Ferrara when Mabel pins Ferrara after a belly-to-belly suplex at 2:31:
Zumhofe spends the early part of the match trying to defend the sanctity of rock n’ roll against rap but he comes up with nothing to show for his efforts. Ferrara, a former enhancement talent for Stampede Wrestling, takes the fall at the hands of Mabel, thereby giving the big man momentum going into In Your House where he will face Adam Bomb in a King of the Ring qualifier.
–We get a quick recap of all of Bob Backlund’s spring break videos.
–Non-Title Match: Diesel (WWF Champion) (4-0-1) defeats Henry Godwinn (11-2) with the Jackknife at 8:49 shown:
This is a questionable match for Diesel to take since he has to face Sid at In Your House the next day. McMahon does his best to put over Godwinn as a threat, noting that he “gave the Undertaker all he can handle” several months ago on the show and he and Hendrix discuss how the Million Dollar Corporation has likely paid Godwinn to “soften up” Diesel for tomorrow night. Later in the bout a camera goes backstage to see Sid watching the match on a monitor and he chases the cameraman away because being observed scouting his opponent is some kind of scandal. The match is a decent brawl, with Godwinn focusing much of his attack on the champion’s back, and Diesel showing that he knows more than the six moves Jim Cornette says that he had. However, the ending is pretty anti-climactic as Diesel powers out of a chinlock, runs through his comeback moves, and hits the Jackknife to end Godwinn’s four-match winning streak. They are trying the Hogan formula for some of these Diesel matches but it does not fit. Rating: **
–After the match, Ted DiBiase and Sid come out to watch Diesel, who is selling some of the beating he received from Godwinn during the match. Diesel dares Sid to come to the ring, but Sid refuses to engage.
–Wiand keeps hyping the house shows, focusing her rant this time against the Roadie since Razor Ramon is facing the Roadie at the Meadowlands. The Undertaker promises to put Sid’s soul in a box at the Meadowlands.
–Todd Pettengill and Wiand tour of the house being given away for In Your House is shown courtesy of WWF Mania.
–Ray Rougeau tries to interview Diesel but there are audio difficulties. Hendrix says that Diesel is saying how scared he is of Sid.
The Last Word: The Diesel-Godwinn match came off much better than one would expect, with Godwinn doing his best to work some intentional psychology into the bout to bolster the narrative that he was doing the bidding of the Million Dollar Corporation, and that carried the show. All we have now is The Action Zoneand then we will be ready for the first In Your House and the WWF’s foray into having monthly pay-per-views.
